Meet the Bees at an Authentic Family Apiary in the Heart of the Itria Valley

Seen the trulli of Alberobello and looking for something different? Just minutes from Alberobello, Locorotondo and Cisternino, our small family apiary awaits you in a quiet country lane, surrounded by olive trees and ancient dry-stone walls. Far from the crowds, it's the perfect way to round off your day in Puglia: the real Itria Valley countryside, experienced side by side with our bees.

What you'll experience

We welcome you under the veranda of our family farmhouse with a glass of fresh water and an introduction to the world of bees. Before heading to the hives, we open a teaching hive together: instead of frames, you'll find large macro photographs of the queen, the drones, the workers, the brood and the honey cells. That way, when you're standing in front of the real bees, you'll know exactly what you're looking at.

Then comes the moment you won't forget: you put on a full beekeeping suit, veil, gloves and boots, and we walk into the family grove, where the hives rest on ancient terraced slopes. Our bee colonies are selected for their gentleness: you'll observe them up close, search for the queen, learn to tell honey from brood — and if you're feeling brave, hold a living frame in your hands for an unforgettable photo.

We finish with a guided tasting of our honeys and whatever hive products are in season: pollen, bee bread, sometimes even royal jelly. If a flavour wins you over, you can take it home.

Hai visitato i trulli di Alberobello e cerchi qualcosa di diverso? A pochi minuti da Alberobello, Locorotondo e Cisternino, il nostro piccolo apiario di famiglia ti aspetta in una contrada silenziosa, tra ulivi e antichi muretti a secco. Lontano dalla folla, è il modo perfetto per completare la tua giornata in Puglia: la vera campagna della Valle d'Itria, vissuta insieme alle nostre api.

Cosa vivrai

Ti accogliamo sotto la veranda della casa di campagna con un bicchiere d'acqua fresca e un'introduzione al mondo delle api. Prima di raggiungere gli alveari, apriamo insieme un'arnia didattica: al posto dei telai troverai grandi fotografie macro della regina, dei fuchi, delle operaie, della covata e delle celle di miele. Così, quando sarai davanti alle api vere, saprai esattamente cosa stai guardando.

Poi arriva il momento che non dimenticherai: indossi tuta integrale, maschera, guanti e stivali e ci addentriamo nel boschetto di famiglia, dove gli alveari riposano su antiche scarpate. Le nostre famiglie di api sono selezionate per la loro docilità: le osserverai da vicino, cercherai la regina, imparerai a riconoscere miele e covata — e se te la senti, terrai in mano un telaio vivo per una foto indimenticabile.

Chiudiamo con una degustazione guidata dei nostri mieli e dei prodotti dell'alveare del momento: polline, pan d'api, a volte persino pappa reale. Se un sapore ti conquista, puoi portarlo a casa.
